Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - What to Expect

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare | Due to release on 4th November, 2014
Since last years release of Call of Duty: Ghosts, developed by Infinity Ward, we have been anticipating this years release of CoD: Advanced Warfare, due to the lack of excitement 'Ghosts' brought us. Not to say 'Ghosts' was a bad game, but it certainly didn't have the desired effect, considering the 22 million copies sold was said to be a bad year for the CoD franchise.

So, lets take a look at the developer, who has created this years Call of Duty game. Treyarch, right? Wrong, since this year, we are seeing 'Sledgehammer Games', the co-developer for 'CoD: MW3 (Modern Warfare 3)' take the plunge in creating 2014's CoD release, all by themselves which has got a lot of CoD fans nervous, since two disappointing CoD games, one year to the next, could see a lot of CoD fans leave the series.

Although, that would be a little pre-mature in saying this, as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has not yet been released and 'Sledgehammer Games' did a good job co-developing 'CoD: MW3', having been a worthy follow-on from 'MW2'.

There is now to be a three-year cycle for the Call of Duty franchise games, allowing each developer; Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and now Sledgehammer Games to create a world-class first-person shooter which is better than the previous years CoD release. No Pressure, CoD developers. This will benefit the CoD developers and the CoD fans, as this extra year will give the developers time to brush-up the gameplay, both online and offline to a better standard, also providing more time for developers to create DLC packs for the CoD games.

Down to the reality CoD fans now face for 2014's release, as the 'Advanced Warfare' release closes in, being released on November 4th, 2014 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and PC.

Set completely in the future, 'Advanced Warfare' will be bringing a whole new set of weapons, perks, abilities and characters in multiplayer. As-well-as an exciting single player storyline which will test CoD fans willingness to play a futuristic style game, although 'Black Ops 2' was set in the future, so it isn't as though fans haven't already had a taste of the futuristic warfare.

Now, lets take a look at the in-game multiplayer features for 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare', considering this is why CoD fans keep buying the game every year. So, here they are:

- Advanced Exoskeleton:
This new feature, in multiplayer allows you to super-jump high in the air (and move quicker), landing nicely anywhere you like, being a serious advantage to your gameplay if you can learn to kill whilst mid-air. So look out for mid-air jumpers whilst playing online, as you can get some easy kills, or if you're unlucky, some easy deaths.

- Supply drops:
During multiplayer, you are able to earn supply drops, unlike any other reward you've ever come across before on a CoD game, as these supply drops will contain, either weapon loot, character gear, or reinforcements. This will be a great advantage for you and your team, if you are able to get to the loot before the enemy kills you first.

- New score-streaks, now competitive and customisable:
During multiplayer gameplay, earn score-streaks which can be customised to your liking, enabling you to lengthen the score required to receive the score-streaks. The benefit to this, being that the score-streak will be more powerful. Also, once you've earned a score-streak, a friendly player can join the streak to increase the damage it gives to the enemy.

- New perks and tools:
Now easier to use tactical grenades, as the one most suited to the movement will be used when in multiplayer gameplay. Through a new perk, you can utilise an expanded mini-map, enabling you to see where wounded enemies are on the map, without having any additional detective equipment on the map used by the friendly team.

- New energy-powered weaponry:
As apart of the futuristic experience, this all-new CoD game provides in multiplayer, an energy class, which has a new set of energy-powered weapons, which require no ammunition, but instead, power. Essentially, these weapons will never run out of ammunition, but be careful, as they can overheat.

- *Possibly* 15 prestiges and 50 levels (till next prestige)
Source: Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey tweeted #AdvancedWarfareMP 50/15, referring to the number of prestiges and levels. Suggesting that there is likely to be 15 prestiges, going 5 above the usual 10 prestiges, as-well-as an expected 50 levels.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a great looking game from what we have seen so far, with a whole new and exciting multiplayer experience set in the future, as-well-as lots more to contend with.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is due to release on November 4th, 2014.

Are you looking forward to playing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare? Does this look like it could be the best CoD game yet? Or, are you put off by the new developer (going solo) and the futuristic era? ... Leave comments in the comments section below, as it would be interesting to hear your thoughts.
